Video and photography for a consultant orthopaedic surgeon’s practice. Built around trust, clarity and the human side of specialist care.
Professor Brian Devitt is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic in Santry, Dublin, with a specialist focus on hip and knee surgery, sports injuries, ACL reconstruction, knee replacement and patient recovery.
The collaboration began with a clear objective: to create a set of visual assets that could help communicate the practice with more clarity, warmth and trust. This was not about a loud promotional campaign. It was about giving patients a better sense of who Brian is, what the practice stands for, and what they can expect when they come through the door.
As the project developed, the work expanded beyond the original scope. Alongside the video content, we captured team photography, clinical environment stills, theatre and medical equipment images, and additional footage to support the wider visual identity of the practice. Healthcare content can easily become cold or overly clinical. For this project, the priority was to create something calm, considered and reassuring throughout.
This film introduces Brian Devitt Orthopaedics through Brian’s own words. The focus is on who they are, what they do, and what they stand for as a practice. It gives patients a clearer sense of the values behind the work: expertise, trust, patient care and a thoughtful approach to treatment.
Rather than building the film around technical claims or heavy medical language, the edit was shaped around Brian’s presence on camera and the calm confidence of the clinical setting. The result is a practice film that feels premium without feeling distant.
The second film focuses on the patient experience. The purpose was to help people understand what they can expect when engaging with Brian Devitt Orthopaedics: from consultation through care and into recovery.
Uncertainty is often one of the biggest sources of anxiety for patients facing orthopaedic surgery or treatment. This film was designed to make the process feel more familiar before the patient arrives. The tone is clear, calm and reassuring, built around patient confidence rather than clinical promotion.
A separate background video was created for website use. Its purpose is not to tell the whole story — it is to bring life, movement and atmosphere to the site without distracting from the main message.
Rather than a static homepage, the background video gives the practice a visual presence that feels active and current. The intention is for this piece to evolve over time. As more work is created with the practice, new footage can be added so the site continues to feel alive and up to date.
Alongside the video work, we produced a full photography package for the practice. The brief was to create a strong visual foundation that could sit across the website, printed material, brochures and social media without relying on generic medical stock imagery.
The shoot covered team portraits, the clinical environment, theatre imagery, medical equipment and supporting practice visuals. The photography is clean, practical and well-lit — built for real use rather than a single campaign.
Every image was delivered in high resolution for print and web-optimised formats for digital use, giving the practice a complete library to draw from as the visual identity grows.
Patients are not just looking for a surgeon. They are looking for confidence, clarity and reassurance. They want to know who they are dealing with, what the process looks like, and whether they feel in safe hands.
The videos were kept calm and direct. The visuals were polished but not overdone. The photography was clean, practical and useful. The edit avoided unnecessary noise and let Brian’s presence, the team and the clinical environment carry the message.
The aim was to create a content foundation that feels premium, honest and genuinely useful. Not content for the sake of content, but material the practice can put to work from day one.
